January: Start Fresh & Focus.
Designing Your Year With Intention

Why New Year’s Resolutions Fail
Does this sound familiar?
✓I’ll be more organized.
✓Or, I'll save more money.
Resolutions often fail because they focus on outcomes — not the planned process it takes to get there. The key is structure, clarity, and resources for Intentional Living.
Reach for Your Intentional Living Canvas™
Map out a meaningful plan that reflects who you are and where you want to go.
Step 1: Define Your Three Core Focus Areas
Let’s start with the big picture: What matters most to you this year?
Examples:
✓What do you want more of?
Example: More financial freedom
✓What do you want less of?
Example: Less stress or surprise expenses
✓What’s one change you can commit to right now?
Example: Track your spending weekly
Challenge: Write down your top 3 Life Areas to focus on this year. These might be areas like health, finances, relationships, career, home, or personal growth.
You’ll return to these Life Areas throughout the year — they’re the foundation of your Intentional Planning inside your MTCB™ Digital All-In-One Planner, guiding your choices, shaping your Master Sheets, and keeping your focus aligned with your values.
Step 2: Set Intentional, Actionable Goals
Vague goals won’t move the needle. Clear goals will.
Examples:
✓Instead of “Be more organized” - Try using your Get It Done Master Sheet™ to plan specific tasks, prioritize and set time frames. Then transfer to the appropriate Daily Master Sheet™ to ensure your planning is complete.
✓Instead of “Spend more time with family” → , try using a Monthly Master Sheet™ and plan four specific family activities using your “Balancing My Life” section. Then plan when they are going to happen and transfer these plans to your Daily Master Sheet™.
Challenge: Open your Goals Master Sheet™ and set one new goal. Ask yourself:
“Why does this matter to me?”
Don’t just identify your goal — plan for your WIN by dedicating planned, actionable time in your Master Sheets.
Step 3: Build Habits That Stick
Even great goals fall apart without a routine to support them. The key is small, daily habits that run on autopilot.
Use MTCB™ daily - Set a reminder in your phone to check in each morning with MTCB™
Daily Master Sheets™ — if you are a visual person, colour-block time to stay on track.
Get It Done Master Sheet™ - Review daily and pull your top priorities over to your Daily Master Sheet™. Have priorities changed? Can you delegate anything?
Brain Dump Vault - Clear mental clutter. If the same distraction keeps popping up- can you see if there is a pattern and clear the hurdle away?
